It can be difficult to find a job that allows you to have enough time to take care of your children. Luckily, there are several great careers that offer flexible hours that are perfect for parents. These six careers will offer quality pay while also giving you free time to spend with your children.
Public relations specialist
A public relations specialist can work for just about any organization, and they spend most of their time promoting their clients to the public. Since this is usually a freelance contract job, you will be able to control when you work and how much work you have.
Pharmacy technician
Most pharmacy technician jobs will be available at hospitals. Since hospitals are open 24 hours a day, they constantly need an attendant in the pharmacy. This means that you should have no problem choosing your work hours each week to correspond with your life at home.
Web developer
If you have the ability to use HTML or Javascript, then you should have no problem landing a job as a web developer. Your job will most likely consist of creating new websites or applications for existing companies. The freelance nature of this job will allow you to be able to pick your projects and work schedule.
Since web development can be done at any time, this is the perfect job to do after the kids have gone asleep for the night.
Dietitian
Dietitians work with their clients on what to eat and serve so they can maintain their health. Dietitians can either work directly with an individual, at a healthcare facility or school. Most of them are self-employed, so it is easy to set up your own hours. The need for dietitians should continue to rise as obesity rates rise.
Tax accountant
A high number of tax accountants work for themselves at home. This allows you to create your own schedule based on the amount of work you have each day. Tax accountants spend most of their time preparing tax forms for clients, but they must also stay up to date on the latest tax laws.
Lawyer
Almost every lawyer can essentially write their own schedule for each day. Meetings with clients and court appearances can both be arranged at times that fit your schedule. Lawyers may work a lot of hours, but you should have no problem working out a flexible schedule.

Hi Maricel,
Thanks for sharing this post.
I would add writers (particularly the novelists or fiction authors). They do create their own schedule for themselves. They can work (yes I mean write :)) at their own choosing in the morning, in afternoon, at midnight (when the dogs start howling), at dawn (when the roosters begin to crow)…, , and in between sit at the beach, play with the children and cook spaghetti sauce.
Well… just a thought. 🙂
