From working a full-time job to looking after the kids, taking them to school and running them to other functions, and then cleaning the house, moms hardly have any time left for themselves.
Even with this hectic schedule, moms still need to find time to relax and exercise, to keep themselves healthy – not only for themselves but for their family. That said, here are four ways to help moms stay in shape:
Take the stress out of the equation
Working moms are very busy people who continually have to balance work, home and their personal lives, which can build up a lot of stress. A good way to combine some personal time with keeping fit is playing a game of tennis with a friend.
Hitting a ball as hard as you can is a great way to relieve stress, as well as burn some calories. Making this a group activity can also be beneficial, as letting out your thoughts and feelings to somebody you trust can help displace the troubles nagging at you, whether that be related to work or home, if any.
Watch what you eat
Moms, in general, hate food wastage, which prompts them to sometimes eat their kids’ leftovers. Though this is good for your pockets, you’re consuming extra calories, which over time, can contribute to weight gain. And then, there’s the issue with time, or the scarcity thereof, which means that moms can’t always prepare healthy meals.
To help you with that, here’s a post that lists down 50 of the healthiest foods for women that you can incorporate in your diet.
Sweat it out
For moms who want a dramatic change in their overall fitness, going to the gym (and actually working out) may be the best bet. Running and brisk walking can help, too. Remember to pick out the right type of running or workout shoes beforehand, as grabbing the wrong pair of shoes even for the right workout can make or break your exercise regimen.
Play with the kids
For children, playtime is an important part of their development. Bonding time with parents and other members of the family is equally essential for their emotional well-being. Playing tug-of-war or a game of hoops is good, not just for them but for moms as well. Plus, frequent bonding times cement children’s belief that you appreciate them because you’re willing to hang out with them despite your busy schedule.
