I know this has long been overdue, but I’ve finally decided to take action and install CommentLuv on Career Mom Online.
Swamped … again!
A lot of developments have been happening lately. My life is a flurry of activities. There’s the usual stuff – work, family, freelancing. And there’s me promoting my contest entry at Blog Engage, creating a new site called The Writing Bucket via WordPress. And then there’s my installing CommentLuv in my other blog, The Weekend Mommy Blog, too. Next is my winning a free Zyma hosting account for one year.
I’ve asked Zyma tech support to put that on hold as I’m not ready with a domain for The Writing Bucket yet. Career Mom Online and The Weekend Mommy Blog are both hosted via Blogger, so there’s no need for hosting services for these two. I haven’t checked back with Zyma yet. I do hope the free account is still available when I’m ready for it.
What is CommentLuv?
If this is a question you have in mind, chances are you haven’t been in the blogosphere long enough to discover the ins and outs of blogging. But of course, that’s perfectly normal. One has to start somewhere, right? Come to think of it, look at me, I’ve been in the blogosphere over a year and it’s only now that I installed CommentLuv.
In a nutshell, CommentLuv is a plugin that encourages better engagement with readers. If the person who comments owns a blog, the latest blog post tied to the URL he signs up with will be displayed as a link. Bloggers love this. This not only ensures visibility for their blogs, it allows them to check out other links pointing to other commenters’ blogs as well, allowing for networking and socializing with like-minded people.
What about you? Are you using CommentLuv, too? Are there any advantages and disadvantages you would like to share with us? I would love to hear from you in the spanking new comments section below.
