This is it. There’s no turning back now. I’m joining the Blog Engage Guest Blogging Contest #6 for 2012, my first time to join a blogging contest.
A week or two ago, I was all prepped up to participate in contest #5. But because procrastination got the better of me again, I ran out of time.
The limited promotion time would give my entry injustice, so I decided to postpone joining for the next round. I wasn’t expecting to win, in case you’re wondering, but like any normal contender, I had hopes.
Fast forward to yesterday, while waiting for my registration to get approved, I did some snooping around the site, familiarizing myself with a little bit of this and that. And then I came across the winning entries from the recently concluded guest blogging contest.
Lo and behold, self-criticism got the better of me again, prompting my usually bashful shadow to back out and disappear into the sidelines.
And the reason?
The article I came up with for the contest was about blogging basics. I belatedly realized, to my horror, the fundamentals of blogging had been covered high and low, far and wide, picked and nitpicked over and over like a poor horse beaten to submission that they’re starting to feel like badly tattered jeans, that donning them once again for another battering is, to say the least, obscenely redundant.
Then again, as they say, there are 1,001 ways to dress a chicken. And while I don’t perceive myself a great writer, I’m proud of the way the pieces came into place in that article. Such being the case, there’s no other way but forward.

What is Blog Engage?
The brainchild of Brian Belfitt, Blog Engage is a community of bloggers seeking to help one another through blog promotion, expanding audience reach, building blog networks and fostering meaningful and lasting relationships.
As I see it, this guest blogging contest is the perfect way to add more weight to my not-so-extensive guest blogging experience with an added bonus – a chance to be rewarded a cash prize for it.
Then again, the chance to network with other bloggers and learn from the seasoned ones is, in and of itself, already a win for me.
As well, if you’ve been wanting to join Blog Engage for the reasons I mentioned above, by simply joining the guest blogging contest, you’ll be given a US $19.99 Standard Blog Engage account for freeAnd just so everyone knows, this contest is made possible through the efforts and collaboration of the following sponsors:

Hey that was a great article about blogging, despite as you said, the topic had been covered 1,000 and 1 ways already. So unique and quite inventive. I liked it very much. Maybe I should try this contest 🙂

Y.B., thanks for the kind words. Indeed, why not? It would require you to do some promotional work. But at the end of it all, I think the networking part, getting to know other bloggers is worth all the hassle. After all, blogging is about relationships, right?

Marciel, You are right blogging has been covered sideways but there is always a different view each person has to offer.
I am a Bog Engage member as well but if you ever need some to vote, comment, or anything to help your blogging efforts I am here.
I believe in helping others so everyone goes up the ladder together. Good luck on the contest.

Michael, thanks for visiting my humble blog.
I am normally very critical of my writing, which isn’t good sometimes. I already was done with the article when I realized I covered a very common topic. So there, I submitted the article with one eye closed, LOL. I’d say the experience had been great, meeting people along the way. The promotion part is the difficult one, I must say. But I’m learning stuff. And this time around, saying blogging is about networking isn’t just me saying it because other people have been through it. Been there, done that, too. 🙂
