Every now and then, it won’t be a surprise to hear soccer fans argue that soccer is the best sports there is in the world, and by far the most popular.
But rugby enthusiasts are definitely not ones to just sit in a corner and listen to the soccer guys downplay the game they love, especially since rugby generally exhibits a lot more action than soccer, being the more physical of the two.
While it’s true that soccer outruns rugby by a mile in terms of popularity – read: David Beckham, Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, FIFA World Cup – rugby also has a considerable fan base.
And while different in more ways than one, soccer and rugby are both strategy games, and involve kicking, tackling, running and passing.
Rugby and soccer in the Philippines
In the Philippines, a country better known for its love of basketball, both soccer and rugby are fast gaining recognition among sports aficionados, even children, many thanks to the Philippine Azkals and the Philippine National Rugby Union Team.
Now in the U.S., if you’re an avid fan of either of the two sports, I’m sure it will be lovely to know that there are sites offering promotional coupons and discount vouchers so you get to watch soccer and rugby games to your heart’s content without burning too much of a hole in your pockets.
